1- "Basic User Manual for Biber":
It's quite an interesting plugin to learn about, ...
but without a "Basic User Manual," it's quite frustrating trying to figure out how many of Biber's features work (it's a huge waste of time).

2- "Different Types of Joints":
Just looking at the number of "Windows-Commands-or Options"—without even a minimal explanation of each item—makes it seem quite difficult to use it properly.

Imagine someone trying to create a secondary structure and only seeing "a letter" for each option, nothing more than that. (Sometimes it's like hieroglyphics.)

3- "Why don't you upload more videos about using Biber?":
On the other hand, the videos you have made are quite useful, but there are very few of them!

4- It seems that if it's for sale, it should be better explained for the user trying to use it.

Using other methods to materialize things seems simpler than
buying Biber and trying to materialize something.
It seems they're not interested in creating genuine help for the user.

(Or do we need to take a year to understand it better?)

It also seems that the new version has even more options,

and is therefore even more difficult to understand without a basic explanation of how they work.
Sorry, but that's what I think.

Greetings

I'm working on a project where we're building formwork for some faceted GFRC benches we are going to cast with a terrazzo finish.

I've been using biber to generate the formwork panels and the edge connectors. All surfaces on the Breps are planar. I'm having a bit of trouble getting this to work correctly.

Bench 1 - doesn't cap the end of the bench. Prob can do something in Rhino post GH.

Bench 2 - returns the error '1. Solution exception: An item with the same key has already been added.' in the assembly node.

Bench 3 - works well but returns the error '1. Unable to create a solid geometry 2, this shell is left as open shell.'

Would love some thoughts on how to troubleshoot. Thanks all!

Hi, I am loving exploring what Biber can do. Amazing work.
I am wanting some finer control over the placement and size of the finger joint type. Basically i’m wanting to be able to specify exactly say one male tab into a female slot mid point in a non-manifold panel. I can do this with count=3 and selecting the config that suits.. but the jt does not appear to allow me to specify my own custom ie (a smaller tab width) . Count apparently auto divides the joint length into the count number. , makes sense , but what if I want smaller tabs and longer spaces.. It would be great to have the same or similar control that the dovetail joint seems to have .. ie control over the count the spacing and the width. I tried hacking the dovetail joint with zero angle, but of course it won’t allow use on non manifold edges.

is the above possible with the current toolset?
thanks !

Hi,

I'm trying to create a part using Biber and think it's a wonderful tool for the job!

The problem I'm having is that I have a part that's symmetrical and would prefer if the top/bottom, left/right, and front/back were mirrored copies of eachother, but Biber keeps producing one joint that's the inverse of all the others in each pair.

The joint settings are a basic Finger Joint with Count = 3, Config 0.

I have tried incrementing Config, but that just toggles between 3 male+1 female and 1 male+3 female on the sides, with the odd edge moving around.

I have also tried feeding in different Finger Joints, setting their edge index, and changing the Config entry on the offending corner, but the jt input seems to not function. I'm using merge, with flattened output like the tutorial says but only one joint configuration (the first) seems to apply to all of the joints, and the index appears to be ignored.

For example if I use a merged, flattened list containing Finger Joint, index 0, Butt Joint Index 2,4,6 (the 3 other edges), all 4 edges are finger joints. If I reverse the order of the merge so the Butt Joint is first, all 4 are butt joints.

Any suggestions? I'm using the latest version of Biber and Rhino as of yesterday.
