1- "Basic User Manual for Biber":
It's quite an interesting plugin to learn about, ...
but without a "Basic User Manual," it's quite frustrating trying to figure out how many of Biber's features work (it's a huge waste of time).
2- "Different Types of Joints":
Just looking at the number of "Windows-Commands-or Options"—without even a minimal explanation of each item—makes it seem quite difficult to use it properly.
Imagine someone trying to create a secondary structure and only seeing "a letter" for each option, nothing more than that. (Sometimes it's like hieroglyphics.)
3- "Why don't you upload more videos about using Biber?":
On the other hand, the videos you have made are quite useful, but there are very few of them!
4- It seems that if it's for sale, it should be better explained for the user trying to use it.
Using other methods to materialize things seems simpler than
buying Biber and trying to materialize something.
It seems they're not interested in creating genuine help for the user.
(Or do we need to take a year to understand it better?)
It also seems that the new version has even more options,
and is therefore even more difficult to understand without a basic explanation of how they work.
Sorry, but that's what I think.
Greetings
Hello,
Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback — and please don’t apologize.
We fully understand your points, and you are absolutely right in many of them.
Let me address everything one by one:
1. “Basic User Manual for Biber”
We completely agree with you.
Because of limited resources, the documentation for the first release remained minimal, and that has clearly created frustration for new users.
The upcoming Biber 2.0 will include a complete set of examples, a proper beginner-friendly user manual, and step-by-step guides for the main features.
2. “Different Types of Joints”
Again, you are right — some of the options can feel cryptic without explanations. However most joints follow the same principle and should be easy to learn on the way.
3. “Why aren’t there more tutorial videos?”
We admit we haven’t produced as many videos as we wanted.
However, there are additional tutorials created by universities and users that might help you:
https://www.designstrategies.org/category/digital-production/biber-plugin/
More official videos from us are also planned as part of the Biber 2.0 release.
4. “If it’s for sale, it should be better explained”
That is fully understandable.
Please note that we never sell Biber without first providing a trial version and helping the user during evaluation.
We always want people to test it, see if it fits their workflow, and only then decide if it's worth purchasing.
Your feedback is extremely valuable, and it helps us prioritize what should be improved first.
We truly appreciate your honesty.
If you have any specific questions or if you want guidance on a particular workflow, please feel free to post on the Biber forum or write to us directly — we are always here to support you.
Kind regards,
Parametric Zoo Team
I'm trying to create a small object, following Biber's videos.
I keep running into a problem sending the pieces to the router or CNC cutter.
(They're not just curves, but objects with faces that aren't orthogonal to each other).
I'd like to be able to send the files so you can tell me where the error is.
It's a mesh object with only 60 triangular faces.
--I did it specifically to learn how to use Biber and send the pieces to the cutter--...
however, I haven't been able to solve it yet!
---Could you tell me where the error is in this file? I only followed the video on "removing intersecting parts," and it's a simple mesh with only 60 triangular polygons... How do I send the parts for milling on 4mm wood?
Thank you for your help. Here are the Rhino 8 and GH files.
Can you show me where the error is?
Thanks for your help
